Glucosamine and Chondroitin
Glucosamine and chondroitin are two of the most searched joint ingredients in Australia, and they are usually sold together, often in tablets.
What glucosamine is
Glucosamine is an amino sugar. Commercial glucosamine is usually made from the shells of shellfish such as crab and prawn, which is why glucosamine products carry a shellfish allergen warning. It is sold as glucosamine sulphate or glucosamine hydrochloride; we explain the difference in glucosamine sulphate vs hydrochloride.
What chondroitin is
Chondroitin sulphate is extracted from animal cartilage. Common sources are shark, bovine and chicken. Our label declares shark, so Complete Joint Care carries a shark allergen warning.
Glucosamine and chondroitin in Complete Joint Care
| Ingredient | Per 5 g serve |

They sit alongside turmeric extract, vitamin C and zinc. See the full list on Complete Joint Care.
Tablets or food powder?
In Australia, glucosamine and chondroitin are most often sold as tablets registered as listed medicines. Complete Joint Care is a food powder instead. That changes what we are allowed to say about it, and it changes how you take it: one scoop rather than several tablets. More in powder vs tablets.
Glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM together
Many people look for all three in one product. Complete Joint Care has all three, plus collagen, so there is no need to buy and combine separate products. Read about the third one in MSM powder.
